Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
This policy explains what information Walkoff Trivia ("we", "us") collects when you use walkofftrivia.com (the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices you have. You can play without an account. An account is only needed to save your stats across devices and to subscribe to Pro.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your name and profile picture (see "Google sign-in" below).
- Profile photo. If you add a photo to your account, we store a small square copy of it and show it on your account.
- Game data. When you are signed in, we save the results of the quizzes you finish (your score, correct answers and the quiz played) so we can show you your stats.
- Party mode. The nickname you choose and your answers during a live game. They are used only to run that game and are not linked to your account.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your subscription status, plan, renewal date and a Stripe customer ID. We never see or store your full card number.
- Data stored on your device. Your browser keeps your nickname, best scores and sound setting so you don't lose them. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings.
- Cookies. We use cookies to keep you signed in, and an analytics cookie (PostHog) to understand how the site is used. We do not use advertising cookies.
- Usage analytics. We use PostHog to see which pages and quizzes are used and where players get stuck: pages visited, clicks, games started and finished, and, when you are signed in, your account ID and email so we can link this to your account. Session replays may be recorded with everything you type hidden. We use this only to improve the game, never for advertising.
- Technical data. Our hosting providers automatically log basic request data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.
Google sign-in
If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares the following information with us, with your permission: your email address, your nameand your profile picture. We request only these basic profile scopes (openid, email and profile). We do not access your contacts, Gmail, Google Drive, calendar or any other Google data.
- How we use it. Only to create your account, sign you in, show your name and picture on your account page, and contact you about your account and subscription (for example sign-in links and receipts).
- How we store it. It is stored in our authentication database, hosted by Supabase, with encryption in transit and at rest.
- Who we share it with. No one, except the service providers listed below that help us run the Service. We never sell it, never use it for advertising and never use it to train AI models.
- How to remove it. You can delete your account at any time (see "Your choices and rights"), which deletes this data. You can also revoke our access from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Walkoff Trivia's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
